Women

The position of a woman in Egypt is different from Europe. Although light clothes are being accepted in seaside resorts (read: Hurghada), this might lead to problems in the old city parts. On the beaches, topless sunbathing is being accepted, but it will not command for respect. Obtrusive Egyptians should be ignored or being reprimanded in a friendly but clear way.

Never accept physical violence. It is not advisable for a woman to stroll along on the road on her own at nighttimes.
